About the VCHS

The Venango County Historical Society is located in the Egbert-Mullins-Koos House in Franklin, Pennsylvania. The home was built in 1859 and serves as both the Society's home and exhibit space, a research library, and archive.

 

We serve the Venango County community by preserving the history important to all of us. 

Upcoming Events

Flag Raising at the Old Garrison

 

Join us as we welcome the DAR and the VFW Honor Guard and raise the US flag for Patriot's Day - Sept. 11, 2025 at 11 AM at the last location of Franklin's four frontier forts.​

River Ridge Mansion Tours

 

Sept. 11 at 3 & 6 PM​

Guided tour and historical program on the Joseph Sibley mansion.  Talk, guided-tour, and light refreshments.
Limited to 30 participants - $30 ticket per person.  Contact the office (814) 432-8260

AppleFest Book Sale:

Over 5,000 quality used books including: paperbacks, novels, non-fiction, rare and collectible books, and local history
